Our Commitment

At Green Isle Homes, we are committed to delivering projects that exceed expectations through meticulous planning and expert craftsmanship.

We integrate advanced techniques like timber framing, 3D modeling, and Passivhaus standards for energy-efficient design, ensuring every project is executed with precision and high efficiency. We can also integrate Building Biology, which promotes healthier material selections, enhancing the well-being of both occupants and the environment.

Above all, we prioritize reliability, high-quality construction, and building lasting relationships with our clients and partners.

Our Process

  • Initial consultation to understand vision and establish needs, wants, budget and schedule expectations, and level of support required.

  • Work with design professionals to ensure plans are efficient, coordinated, within budget expectations and in keeping with the vision.

  • Use the plans, specifications and selections to build out a detailed construction cost estimate.

  • Provide a detailed proposal with a detailed list of inclusions, exclusions and assumptions that will be the foundation document of an industry-standard CCA or CCDC construction contract.

  • Work with home warranty insurance providers, provincial agencies, and local jurisdictions to obtain development and building permits.

  • Detail the trade sequencing, key milestones, and critical path in a comprehensive construction schedule.

  • Execute the vision with thoughtful work planning and procurement and an unwavering commitment to high quality workmanship.

  • Monitor, control and report on the project costs throughout the build, and manage trade, consultant or owner initiated changes in a timely, transparent way.

  • Carry out deficiency and operations walk-throughs, provide warranty documents and operations manuals to ensure that builder, owner and warranty standards are met.

  • Green Isle Homes & Timberworks, our subcontractors and suppliers value customer appreciation and will stand by their workmanship and products and address warranty items in a timely manner should they arise.

Our Competencies

  • The Red Seal Program is recognized as the interprovincial standard of excellence in the skilled trades, and is the highest standard of training in Canada.

Green Isle's Red Seal carpenters and apprentices are trained to construct, renovate and repair residential, civil, institutional, commercial and industrial structures made of wood, steel, concrete and other materials.

  • The Canadian Construction Association's Gold Seal Certification Program is the benchmark for excellence in construction management across Canada.

Gold Seal training provides standardized education in key areas of construction like estimating, planning, scheduling, contracts, change management, construction law, quality control, and more. Green Isle aims to be fully Gold Seal certified by 2025.

  • Timber framing is a highly versatile craft that uses heavy timbers and joinery for structural framing. The use of timber framing in buildings offers almost limitless design options. Green Isle is passionate about carrying this traditional building method forward.

  • Mass Timber uses large, solid wood panels to form the core structure of a building.  Engineered components are typically manufactured off-site in factories by fastening multiple layers of wood together with glue, dowels or nails.

These techniques offer both strength, durability, fire resistance and aesthetic appeal.  The large panels allow for efficient site installation that can compress construction schedules. They also provide high thermal mass and allow for effective envelope detailing to produce energy-efficient buildings.

Green Isle has extensive experience working with commercial mast timber and is leading the push to incorporate it into residential designs.

  • Green Isle utilizes advanced 3D modelling technology to create detailed and accurate representations of your project in the design phase and into construction.

This allows for detailed planning and coordination, helping us identify potential issues early and ensure all aspects of the design align perfectly with your vision.

The use of 3D modeling enhances our ability to visualize the end result, streamline decision-making, make necessary adjustments efficiently, as well as provide precise layout on site during construction.

  • Building Biology deals with the impact of the built environment on humans and the natural environment. With its holistic approach, health, sustainability and design aspects are also taken into account.

Green Isle trained through the Institute of Building Biology and Sustainability in Germany and can offer varying levels of consultation services during the design and selections phase of your projects.

  • Passivhaus is a building standard focused on achieving exceptional energy efficiency. It emphasizes high-quality insulation, airtight construction, and effective ventilation to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures year-round with minimal energy use.

Green Isle has long-standing relationships with certified Passivhaus design professionals.
